About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to contribute to real projects at Simmons Foods. You will work on a specific assignment related to your field of study while gaining an understanding of our day-to-day operations. The role encourages cross-functional collaboration and professional growth within the food and beverage industry.
What you'll do#
- Complete a challenging project that addresses a current business need and aligns with your major.
- Present your findings and project work to the team and senior leadership at the end of the summer.
- Perform daily tasks to learn the fundamentals of our processes.
- Support a continuous improvement culture by identifying ways to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Ensure all work meets or exceeds quality standards and USDA/FDA guidelines.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of department policies and goals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree program in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Agriculture, or Operations Management.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and general computer skills.
- Knowledge of business and management principles.
- Ability to work on your feet for several hours, work in various temperatures, and lift at least 10 pounds.
- Willingness to lead, take charge, and offer opinions.
