About the role#
SHI Cryogenics Group is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern for our Allentown, Pennsylvania facility. This is a full-time, on-site role. You will work with our engineering department on product and research and development projects involving specialized compressor and refrigeration devices. Your daily tasks will vary based on your specific mentor and project assignments.
What you'll do#
- Design electrical and electro-mechanical components and systems.
- Lead vendor searches and technical investigations for specific parts.
- Produce product and component specifications.
- Update or create manufacturing, quality assurance, and engineering procedures.
- Write technical reports.
- Analyze systems, power, control circuits, logic, and programs.
- Design electrical and instrumentation fixtures.
- Create test plans and perform laboratory tests.
- Assist with system and component testing.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time undergraduate student in Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering at an accredited four-year university.
- Completion of your 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of study.
- A GPA of 2.8 or higher, with a 3.0 or above preferred.
- Submission of your academic transcript.
- Hands-on experience with tools and equipment in a shop environment.
- Ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and security procedures.
Location & details#
- Location: Allentown, Pennsylvania.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.
- Duration: 10 to 12 weeks.
