About the role#
We are hiring an Investment Intern to join our team in Columbia, Missouri. This is a part-time, on-site position. We require a commitment to a minimum of 12 months of work, which includes full-time hours during the summer and a flexible, part-time schedule throughout the school year.
What you'll do#
- Support all Investment department functions across fixed income, alternatives, and public equity asset classes.
- Research and evaluate new and existing investment opportunities.
- Prepare and update reports on portfolio performance.
- Analyze economic trends that affect insurance and corporate pension portfolios.
- Complete ad hoc investment projects as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a finance, business, or analytical degree.
- Completed core finance or accounting courses with a minimum B grade.
- Familiarity with finance principles, core financial analysis, and the CFA level 1 curriculum.
- Working knowledge of income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Introductory knowledge of equity or fixed income markets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with financial software and databases.
- Strong business writing and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to calculate and interpret basic financial and performance metrics.
- High personal accountability, attention to detail, and individual initiative.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- A letter of recommendation from a professor, advisor, or previous employer.
