About the role#
As a Digital IC Design Engineering Intern, you will join the Signal Integrity Products group at our Ottawa Design Centre. You will work on high-performance optical networking platforms that support 5G networks and data center applications. We integrate interns into our project teams to provide direct experience with digital development, from initial definition to final implementation. You will receive mentorship from senior designers throughout your 12 to 16-month term.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and verify digital circuits for data communications products.
- Perform layout, simulation, and verification of digital blocks.
- Use CAD tools to implement designs, including synthesis, DFT insertion, and timing closure.
- Contribute to project milestones and objectives as a member of the design team.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering program.
- A solid grasp of digital electronic circuit fundamentals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to learn quickly and work both independently and in a team.
- Familiarity with SystemVerilog, Verilog, or VHDL is preferred.
- Exposure to digital design CAD tools or Python scripting is an asset.
