About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for a student to join the Signal Integrity Products group at the Calgary Design Centre. You will work directly with senior designers to build high-speed analog chips that support data center applications, enterprise networking, and 5G infrastructure. The term runs for 12 to 16 months, starting in May 2027.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, verify, and characterize analog and mixed-signal circuits.
- Work on specific components including phase-locked loops, equalizers, and optical or cable receivers and drivers.
- Use advanced CAD tools for circuit layout, simulation, and verification.
- Write scripts to automate IC design and validation tasks using Python, Skill, or TCL.
What you'll need#
- A strong grasp of analog electronic circuit fundamentals.
- Current enrollment in an Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering program.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Exposure to transistor level circuit design and analysis.
- Experience with CAD tools like Cadence Virtuoso.
- Proficiency with Matlab or scripting languages such as Python.

- Compensation: $26 to $28.50 CAD per hour.
