About the role#
We are looking for a self-driven engineer to join our team. This role is for someone who enjoys building things, automating solutions, and learning through doing. You will work on a variety of projects that span from scripting and cloud deployments to infrastructure-as-code. We value a collaborative mindset and a curiosity for how systems work.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with team members on shared projects using Git.
- Automate tasks using scripts like Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
- Troubleshoot technical issues to find the root cause.
- Learn new technologies by working across unfamiliar stacks.
- Ship working code and improve existing systems.
What you'll need#
- Experience with Git workflows like branching and merging.
- Proficiency in a Linux shell environment.
- Coding experience in JavaScript or TypeScript, Python, and a compiled language like Java, C, or C++.
- Experience with a declarative language or tool such as Terraform, Ansible, or Dockerfiles.
- Experience deploying or standing up a website.
- Experience using a cloud provider like AWS, Azure, or GitHub Pages.
- Current enrollment in a Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Cybersecurity program.
Location & details#
- Location: Rochester, New York.
- Modality: This is an on-site, full-time position.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm.
- Compensation: $30.00 per hour.
- Status: Paid co-op with rolling terms.
