FALL 2026 Performance Internship (Educational) - Sounders FC

About the role#

The Seattle Sounders FC Performance team is offering an educational internship for Fall 2026. This role provides experience in a professional sports setting, focusing on performance training, program design, and performance science. This is an unpaid internship requiring a commitment of at least 12 weeks, and candidates must be able to receive academic credit through their university.

What you'll do#

• Assist in the setup and execution of all First and Second team training sessions, including GPS tracking and on-field conditioning.
• Support the collection and analysis of GPS, monitoring, and performance testing data.
• Help prepare and conduct First and Second team mobility, lifting, and activation sessions.
• Maintain cleanliness and order of the weight room and its equipment.
• Contribute to the design, development, and delivery of curriculum projects as determined by the Performance Staff.

What you'll need#

• A Bachelor's degree and certification from NSCA-CSCS, CSCCa, and/or USAW.
• Mandatory CPR/AED certification.
• Ability to receive academic credit toward a credited program.
• Exceptional communication skills and a professional demeanor.
• Proficiency in computer use and the ability to learn new software and processes quickly.
• Ability to lift up to 65 lbs and stand for prolonged periods.

• Location: Seattle, Washington (Renton training facility).
• Modality: On-site.
• Schedule: Requires a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Eligibility: Must reside in Washington state upon hire and be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
