The Student Campaigns and the Scripps Fund Coordinator assists in the operations of the Scripps Fund, the annual giving program of Scripps College. This role focuses on achieving dollar and participation goals by managing student campaign callers, Giving Tuesday initiatives, and senior class gift programs. The coordinator works closely with the Scripps Fund team, Development Services, and Donor Relations to support donor outreach, pledge tracking, and stewardship efforts.
What you'll do#
- Manage day-to-day student caller operations, including supervising staff and facilitating donor outreach shifts.
- Recruit, interview, hire, and coordinate employment for all Student Campaigns student workers.
- Facilitate ongoing student training on fundraising essentials and best practices in phone solicitation.
- Customize solicitation scripts and monitor caller performance to ensure quality and consistency.
- Coordinate pledge reminder tracking, outreach, and the distribution of donor acknowledgments.
- Manage support technologies related to Student Campaigns, including file segmentation and performance reporting.
- Lead student philanthropy initiatives, including senior class gift programs and educational campaigns about giving back.
- Record and maintain accurate prospect interactions within the database.
- Support college-wide events such as Reunion Weekend and Days of Giving.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of two years of experience in non-profit fundraising or higher education advancement.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize simultaneous projects.
- Ability to compose high-quality written communications with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of industry best practices in higher education annual funds.
- Experience making cold calls and personal solicitations.
- Ability to build interpersonal relationships and collaborate across diverse constituencies.
- Proficiency in CRM utilization and data management.
