About the role#
Scott Management Company is seeking a Finance Intern to support financial operations, reporting, and accounting activities. This role is designed for students pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration who want to gain hands-on experience in a professional environment. You will work across various business areas, including finance shared services, grant accounting, and investments.
What you'll do#
- Assist with general accounting functions such as ledger support, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial record maintenance.
- Prepare month-end financial reports, schedules, and supporting materials for internal review.
- Support financial analysis, budgeting, and data organization projects to help identify trends and improve financial visibility.
- Document finance processes, procedures, and project work while maintaining confidentiality.
- Complete a finance-related project focused on process improvement or reporting efficiency.
- Present your project findings to staff and leadership at the end of the internship.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in a business-related field.
- A basic understanding of financial systems and general accounting concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across departments.
- Ability to work independently, solve problems, and adapt to changing business needs.
- A willingness to learn, research, and grow professionally.
