About the role#
This co-op position offers practical experience within the Engine or Chassis departments. You will work on engineering projects that support current research and development initiatives. The role involves daily collaboration with an engineering team on technical projects while gaining exposure to manufacturing and technology development processes.
What you'll do#
- Support design tasks including calculation, simulation, CAD modeling, analysis, and component sizing.
- Conduct component or system level mechanical testing.
- Perform component teardown analysis, which includes physical teardown, inspection photography, and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with cross functional teams to complete assigned tasks.
- Work independently while remaining open to instruction and training.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 2.5 GPA per semester.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods and lift or move 30 pounds.
- 3D CAD modeling experience is preferred.
- Participation in SAE collegiate competition teams or experience as a mechanical hobbyist is a plus.
