About the role#
This internship supports the Managed Care division in Edmonton. You will work under the Manager of Managed Care to develop, coordinate, and execute pharmacy programs for patients and stakeholders. This role provides experience in marketing, pharmacy operations, and clinical practice. The position requires 16 to 20 hours of work per week.
What you'll do#
- Assist in developing communication materials and promotional tools to support health and wellness programs.
- Work directly with the public in clinical programs under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Support the implementation of care plans, vaccination services, and chronic disease management programs, including medication management.
- Support day-to-day pharmacy retail operations at select locations.
- Coordinate and participate in community and in-store health promotional events.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Faculty of Pharmacy at an accredited university, having completed your 2nd or 3rd year of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
- Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft desktop applications.
- Experience with the Kroll computer system.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical topics, specifically chronic diseases and vaccinations.
- Ability to travel frequently throughout the assigned region.
