About the role#
This is a full-time internship for Summer 2027 based in Wilmington, Delaware. You will join a project team to assist with the design of new electrical substations or the upgrade of existing systems. You will work under the direction of experienced engineers to apply your academic background to real-world infrastructure projects.
What you'll do#
- Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
- Review structural design drawings and vendor drawings.
- Apply your knowledge of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design.
- Support engineers and designers in the analysis of steel structures, connections, concrete members, platforms, and foundations.
- Solve engineering problems using data and modern tools, including automation and AI, to improve workflows and design efficiency.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a Bachelor or Master of Science program in Structural, Civil, or Architectural Engineering.
- A strong academic background in the behavior of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, reinforced concrete design, and foundation design.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong PC skills.
- Willingness to use tools like Python, MATLAB, or advanced Excel for automation and data transformation is valued.
