About the role#
As a Structural Engineering Intern, you will join a project team to support the design of electrical substations. You will work under the direction of experienced engineers on new construction and system upgrades. This role focuses on applying your academic background to real-world structural challenges while using modern tools to improve project workflows.
What you'll do#
- Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
- Perform structural analysis for steel structures, connections, concrete members, platforms, and foundations.
- Review structural design drawings and vendor documentation.
- Solve engineering problems using automation and AI tools to improve efficiency.
- Apply your knowledge of materials and structural analysis to substation design projects.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science program in Structural, Civil, or Architectural Engineering.
- A strong academic background in the behavior of materials and structural analysis.
- Experience with structural steel, reinforced concrete, and foundation design.
- Good verbal and written communication skills and strong PC skills.
- A willingness to use modern tools and scripting to solve technical problems.
