About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will join a project team within our Nuclear Power Group for the summer of 2027. You will work under the direction of senior engineers to assist with project execution. This role focuses on the design of new systems or the modification and upgrade of existing power plant and industrial facility components.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Work on tasks related to project reporting, including tracking and evaluating project activities, progress, and data.
- Apply your academic background in mechanical engineering to support team goals.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a Bachelor or Master of Science degree program in Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear, General, or Systems Engineering.
- Strong academic background with coursework in mechanical systems analysis, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, or heat transfer.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Prior internship or co-op experience is preferred.
- An understanding of the practical application of mechanical engineering principles is preferred.
- Enrollment in an ABET-accredited engineering program is preferred.
