About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineer Intern, you will join the Energy & Industrial Group for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on a project team and assist senior engineers with the execution of project work. This role involves supporting the design of new systems or modifications to existing facilities, including power plants, industrial sites, oil and gas infrastructure, and renewable or carbon-capture projects.
What you'll do#
- Develop system designs and prepare engineering calculations.
- Create engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Evaluate bid packages and review vendor drawings for major industrial equipment.
- Track and report on project activities, progress, and data.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Chemical Engineering.
- Strong academic foundation in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer.
- Proficiency with PC software and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational habits.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize issues, and meet deadlines.
- Preferred: A 3.0 GPA or higher, prior internship experience, and leadership roles in campus or community organizations.
- Preferred: Graduation from an ABET-accredited program.
