About the role#
The Strategic Advisory Services group provides financial, commercial, and market advisory services to utilities, investors, and technology companies. As an intern, you will support project development, asset transactions, and strategic planning for energy infrastructure. This is a full-time, paid position for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Support due diligence and strategic assessments for energy infrastructure projects.
- Build and maintain financial models for capital investments and business cases.
- Research energy markets, power generation technologies, battery storage, and transmission.
- Evaluate project economics, risks, and key assumptions.
- Synthesize findings into client-ready materials including presentations, executive briefings, and white papers.
- Organize and analyze project data using Excel and other analytical tools.
- Collaborate with senior consultants and technical subject matter experts.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an MBA or Master's program in Engineering, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Rising seniors pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, or Business with at least six semesters completed.
- Minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Preferred: Experience or coursework in power systems, renewable energy, nuclear, thermal generation, or transmission.
- Preferred: Familiarity with data visualization or analytical tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Python, or SQL.
- Preferred: Related internship, co-op, or project experience.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Chicago, Illinois.
- The position follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring three days per week in the office.
