About the role#
Sandstone Care is seeking a Clinical Intern to join our teen residential treatment center in Crownsville, Maryland. This role offers hands-on experience for students currently enrolled in a master’s program for counseling or social work. You will work directly with clients and families to support their recovery from substance use and mental health challenges. This is an unpaid internship position.
What you'll do#
- Support clients through their recovery journey and help them reach treatment goals.
- Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions.
- Manage clinical documentation, paperwork, and billing requirements.
- Coordinate care between clients, their families, and other providers.
- Participate in weekly clinical team meetings and receive one hour of individual supervision each week.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a master’s program for counseling or social work.
- Ability to commit 15-20 hours per week, including at least one evening shift.
- Strong communication skills and a professional attitude.
- Commitment to ethical practice and working under supervision.
- Attention to detail regarding clinical documentation and billing.
- A desire to work in a client-centered treatment environment.
