About the role#
Sandstone Care is seeking a Clinical Intern to join our outpatient treatment center in Reston, Virginia. This role supports adolescents and young adults managing substance use, mental health, and mood disorders. You will work under direct supervision to gain hands-on experience in a clinical setting, with opportunities for individual supervision and participation in team meetings.
What you'll do#
- Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions.
- Maintain clinical documentation and paperwork.
- Meet required billing timelines.
- Coordinate care with clients, families, and other providers.
- Participate in weekly clinical team meetings.
- Work under direct supervision.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a master's program for counseling or social work.
- Availability to commit 15 to 20 hours per week.
- Commitment to working at least one evening per week.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Dedication to ethical practice and professional supervision.
- A desire to contribute to a client-centered treatment environment.
