About the role#
Sandstone Care is seeking a Clinical Intern to join our outpatient treatment center in Virginia Beach. This role is for students currently pursuing a master’s degree in counseling or social work. You will gain hands-on experience by working directly with adolescents and young adults who are navigating substance use and mental health challenges. This is an unpaid internship opportunity.
What you'll do#
- Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions.
- Coordinate care between clients, their families, and other providers.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
- Manage billing responsibilities.
- Participate in weekly Clinical Team Meetings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a master’s program for counseling or social work.
- Ability to commit 15-20 hours per week.
- Availability for at least one evening shift per week.
- Strong attention to detail regarding documentation and billing.
- A commitment to ethical practice and working under clinical supervision.
