About the role#
The Deputy Music Director works with the music director and the WXAV music committee. This position supports the station by managing music libraries, ensuring broadcast compliance, and assisting with station promotions. This is a paid student employment role for those eligible for Federal Work Study.
What you'll do#
- Develop monthly A-List and specialty music lists.
- Listen to new music to check lyrics and edit for FCC compliance.
- Evaluate student broadcasts to ensure rules are met and provide feedback to DJs.
- Compile weekly NACC charts.
- Maintain physical and digital music libraries.
- Arrange interviews and concert tickets for hard rock and hip-hop acts.
- Assist with planning and promoting station events and giveaways.
- Serve as a member of the Student Media Street Team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at Saint Xavier University.
- Federal Work Study eligibility.
- A background in Communication is preferred.
- Submission of a resume and cover letter.
