About the role#
As a Substance Use Disorder Intern at Sagent Behavioral Health, you will gain hands-on experience across the 12 Core Functions of addiction counseling. You will work on-site in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, while maintaining a small caseload of individual clients and participating in team-based clinical care. This is a paid, W2 position.
What you'll do#
- See and maintain a small caseload of individual clients.
- Co-facilitate SUD process groups and lead individual sessions.
- Create person-centered treatment plans and write clinical progress notes.
- Use assessment tools that align with 245g Minnesota state standards.
- Create and present psycho-educational lectures for group sessions.
- Conduct intakes and assessments to gather patient information.
- Collaborate with your treatment team to implement care plans.
- Maintain accurate and compliant patient records.
- Attend weekly supervision and participate in all clinical staff meetings and trainings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an associate, bachelor, or master degree program for Alcohol and Drug counseling, Co-occurring disorders, or a related field.
- Eligibility to pursue LADC/ADC-T licensure, or LADC and LPCC/LGSW/LMFT licensure upon program completion.
- Completion of a formal practicum or internship through your academic program.
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism and integrity.
- Previous work or volunteer experience in fields such as inpatient mental health, residential programs, or independent living skills is preferred.
