About the role#
As a Substance Use Disorder Intern at Sagent Behavioral Health, you will gain hands-on experience across all 12 Core Functions. You will work directly with patients, manage a small caseload, and participate in the clinical operations of our Fergus Falls office. This position is a paid, on-site role designed for students completing a formal practicum or internship through their academic program.
What you'll do#
- Maintain a small caseload of individual clients.
- Facilitate individual sessions and co-facilitate SUD process groups.
- Create and present psycho-educational lectures during group sessions.
- Conduct patient intakes and assessments.
- Collaborate with the treatment team to develop person-centered, individualized care plans.
- Write clinical progress notes and maintain accurate patient records in compliance with 245G standards.
- Attend weekly supervision, clinical staff meetings, and internal trainings.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an associate, bachelor, or master degree program in Alcohol and Drug counseling, Co-occurring, or a related field.
- Eligibility to pursue LADC/ADC-T licensure or LADC and LPCC/LGSW/LMFT licensure upon program completion.
- Current participation in a formal practicum or internship program.
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism and integrity in a clinical setting.
- Previous work or volunteer experience in fields such as residential care, inpatient mental health, or independent living skills is preferred.

- Compensation: Starts at $15.00 per hour.
- Status: Full-time or part-time (0.625 to 1.0 FTE).
