About the role#
Saab is hiring a Mechanical Engineering intern for the Summer 2027 term. This paid, full-time position is based in West Lafayette, Indiana. You will work within the Production Support and Design Organization, focusing on aircraft design and production processes.
What you'll do#
- Complete a designated project assigned by your department manager to apply your coursework to real-world engineering tasks.
- Partner with an assigned mentor to receive feedback and project direction.
- Contribute to the production and design of the T-7 trainer.
- Evaluate production non-conformances and develop potential design solutions.
- Gain experience in a design organization and understand the functions involved in aircraft production.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited degree program for Mechanical, Computer, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering.
- Completion of your freshman year by the time of hire.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
- Status as a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident, or protected individual.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
