About the role#
Kensho serves as the hub for AI innovation at S&P Global. Our team focuses on building generative AI applications, data retrieval systems, and automated extraction tools. As a Machine Learning Engineer intern, you will join a group working on our GenAI platform and LLM-powered applications. You will work alongside experienced engineers in a collaborative environment to build technology that is useful and scalable.
What you'll do#
- Solve challenges in agentic design and LLM orchestration, including memory management, data access patterns, and agent performance evaluation.
- Lead a project to prototype, build, and test ML models and pipeline components with guidance from senior staff.
- Gain experience across the full ML model lifecycle, from initial problem framing to final deployment.
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team of product managers, designers, and engineers while receiving mentorship.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher with relevant coursework or previous internships in Machine Learning.
- Experience designing and iterating on agentic systems, including evaluating performance and user interactions.
- Proficiency in advanced machine learning methods and statistical modeling of real-world data.
- Expertise in Python and associated frameworks such as LangGraph, Pydantic AI, or PyTorch.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical results to various audiences.
- Demonstrated habits in clean coding and documentation.

- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- This role is on-site at our Cambridge, Massachusetts or New York, New York offices.
