About the role#
This is a 10-week summer internship program beginning in June 2027. You will join S&P Global Ratings to gain exposure to credit analysis, project work, and collaboration with experienced professionals. You will support our mission of providing risk evaluations and analytical insights to financial markets. Interns work within analytical practice groups such as Corporates, Public Finance, Financial Institutions, Structured Finance, and Infrastructure. Strong performers may be considered for the 2028 CREDit Graduate Program.
What you'll do#
- Support deal execution and analytical projects while contributing ideas in team discussions.
- Complete and present research findings to senior leaders.
- Build capability in credit rating methodologies.
- Provide accurate quarterly financial statistics and data analysis.
- Maintain high-quality research, presentations, reporting, and financial models.
- Use AI technologies responsibly to analyze datasets.
- Prepare materials for rating committees and issuer management meetings.
- Produce clear, evidence-based narratives for stakeholders.
- Apply confidentiality, documentation, and governance requirements.
- Support supervised piloting and testing of new tools.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate or postgraduate student in the penultimate year of study.
- Majors including Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Engineering, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Political Science, or English.
- Ability to conduct independent analysis and research.
- Strong Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Familiarity with AI tools and technologies.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in fluent English.
- Collaborative and dependable working style.
- Strong time management and attention to detail.
- Solutions-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality.
- Indefinite right to work in the United States.
Location & details#
- Location: New York, New York.
- Modality: Hybrid (minimum of two days per week in the office).
- Employment: Full-time.
- Requirement: Must reside in the internship location for the duration of the program.
