Strategic Sourcing Assistant (Co-op)

About the role#

The Strategic Sourcing Assistant (Co-op) supports procurement strategies, data analysis for spend categories, and contract compliance. This role involves liaising with cross-functional departments to meet cost reduction targets and supplier performance goals. This is a paid, full-time, 8-month position.

What you'll do#

• Identify suppliers and develop strategic relationships for Capital Equipment and MRO.
• Support RFP, RFQ, RFA, and negotiation processes with a focus on creating value.
• Collaborate with legal and internal stakeholders to negotiate contract terms and conditions.
• Develop and execute category strategies, vendor pools, and sourcing plans.
• Manage supplier performance by developing and monitoring key performance indicators.
• Ensure contract commitments are met and accurately entered into the ERP system.
• Communicate market conditions, trends, and forecasts to stakeholders.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a post-secondary degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Sourcing, or a related field.
• Enrolled and eligible for an 8-month Co-op program starting in the Fall 2026 term.
• General understanding of sourcing, category knowledge, and supplier management.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously.
• Previous work experience in a supply chain or operations environment is preferred; database and ERP experience are considered assets.

Location & details#

• Location: Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada.
• Work Modality: Hybrid (3 days in-person, 2 days remote).
• Term: 8 months (September 2026 – April 2027).
• Compensation: $21.80 – $27.00 per hour, based on year of study, academic program, and prior co-op experience.
