About the role#
The Strategic Sourcing Assistant (Co-op) supports procurement projects, data analysis for spend categories, and contract compliance. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional departments to meet cost reduction targets and supplier performance goals.
What you'll do#
- Identify suppliers and develop strategic relationships for Capital Equipment and MRO.
- Understand market conditions and communicate trends or forecasts to stakeholders.
- Support RFP, RFQ, RFA, and negotiation processes with a focus on value creation.
- Work with legal and stakeholders to negotiate contract terms and conditions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to manage the supplier portfolio effectively.
- Develop and execute category strategies, vendor pools, and sourcing plans.
- Manage supplier performance by developing and monitoring key performance indicators.
- Ensure contract commitments are met and entered into the ERP system.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a post-secondary degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Sourcing, or a related field.
- Enrolled and eligible for an 8-month Co-op program starting in the Fall 2026 term.
- General understanding of sourcing, category knowledge, and supplier management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, manage multiple projects, and work independently.
- Previous work experience in a supply chain or operations environment is preferred.
- Database skills and ERP experience are considered assets.
Location & details#
- Location: Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada.
- Work Modality: Hybrid (3 days in person, 2 days remote).
- Term: 8 months (September 2026 to April 2027).
- Compensation: $21.80 - $27.00 per hour, based on year of study, academic program, and prior co-op experience.
