About the role#
The Canada Sales Tax Intern supports the Canadian Sales Tax team with GST/HST, QST, and PST overpayment reviews, audit support, and refund filings. This role is designed for students or recent graduates to gain hands-on exposure to Canadian indirect tax compliance and consulting. You will work closely with experienced consultants to analyze data, conduct tax research, and assist with client deliverables.
What you'll do#
- Assist with Canadian sales tax reviews by supporting data analysis and introductory tax research.
- Import, organize, and validate client data used for recovery and exposure analysis.
- Review vendor invoices and help locate supporting documentation.
- Support the preparation of client reports and tax refund claim documentation.
- Research basic Canadian commodity tax questions and summarize findings for the team.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented approach with an interest in data analysis and problem-solving.
