About the role#
As a Transaction Tax Intern, you will support Senior Tax Consultants and Tax Managers with sales and use tax overpayment reviews, audit reviews, and refund filings. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in our Houston office.
What you'll do#
- Assist with review preparation through tax research and data analysis.
- Locate, examine, and scan vendor invoices and other essential documents.
- Research specific tax questions and issues.
- Help compile client reports and refund claims.
- Contact vendors to follow up on refund requests and gather information.
- Enter data into Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Travel to client locations as part of your project work.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
- You are entering your Junior or Senior year of college.
- You have completed Intermediate Accounting coursework.
- You have intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- You possess a valid driver’s license and are able to travel to client sites.
- You can work independently and collaborate with team members at all levels.
