About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Chicago, Illinois. You will join the Global Health, Safety, Environmental, and Sustainability team to support environmental compliance and sustainability goals. This role involves working directly on the plant floor and in an office setting.
What you'll do#
- Collect and analyze environmental data.
- Generate reports and present graphical information.
- Monitor processes, including basic industrial hygiene activities.
- Research pollution prevention initiatives like reuse, recycling, and reduction.
- Participate in team problem solving and continuous improvement activities.
- Observe behavioral based safety practices.
- Support the Personal Protective Equipment program, including selection, recycling, and auditing.
- Assist with ergonomic training and assessments.
- Interact with production team members, leadership, engineers, and facilities maintenance staff.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited degree program with a concentration in Environmental Engineering or Industrial Engineering. Related disciplines will be considered.
- Ability to think analytically and independently to suggest process improvements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general PC skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with others in a production and plant environment.
- Familiarity with industrial hygiene, policy, and occupational safety is preferred.

- Schedule: 1st shift, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
