About the role#
This internship offers an opportunity to work with subject matter experts on state and local tax matters. You will support multi-state companies by identifying tax savings and navigating tax controversies. This is a full-time, paid position for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Provide service to multi-state companies to identify tax savings opportunities.
- Assist with tax controversies, including preparing clients for auditor discussions and drafting protests.
- Represent clients at hearings and appeal meetings.
- Research and draft technical memoranda on tax issues.
- Respond to inquiries from clients and tax authorities.
- Review documentation and perform detailed calculations using raw data.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, or Economics.
- Graduation date within one year of the internship.
- Minimum overall and major GPA of 2.8.
- Completion of 6 to 12 accounting hours, depending on the practice area.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and web research.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and work effectively both independently and in a team.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and attention to detail.
- A valid driver’s license.
