About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in New York. You will work alongside tax experts to help multi-state companies identify tax savings opportunities and manage tax controversies. This role is hybrid.
What you'll do#
- Identify tax savings opportunities for clients.
- Assist with state and local tax controversies, including preparing clients for auditor discussions.
- Represent clients at hearings and appeal meetings.
- Prepare protests and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
- Research and draft technical memoranda regarding tax issues.
- Review documentation and perform detailed calculations using raw data.
What you'll need#
- Working toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, or Economics.
- Graduation date within one year of the internship.
- Minimum overall and major GPA of 2.8.
- Completion of 6 to 12 accounting hours, depending on the practice.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and work both independently and in a team.
- Valid driver’s license.
