About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to work with subject matter experts on state and local tax matters. You will support multi-state companies by identifying tax savings opportunities and managing tax controversies. This is a full-time position for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Identify tax savings opportunities for clients.
- Assist with tax controversies, including preparing clients for auditor discussions.
- Represent clients at hearings and appeal meetings.
- Prepare protests and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
- Research and draft technical memoranda regarding tax issues.
- Review documentation and perform detailed calculations using raw data.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, or Economics.
- Graduation date within one year of the internship.
- Minimum overall and major GPA of 2.8.
- Completion of 6 to 12 accounting hours, depending on the specific practice.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Outlook.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and detail-oriented skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, work independently, and collaborate within a team.
- Valid driver's license.
