About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to work alongside tax professionals on state and local tax matters. You will support multi-state companies by identifying tax savings opportunities and managing tax controversies. This is a full-time, paid position for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Identify tax savings opportunities for multi-state clients.
- Assist with tax controversies by preparing clients for auditor discussions.
- Represent clients at hearings and appeal meetings.
- Prepare protests and draft technical memoranda regarding tax issues.
- Respond to inquiries from clients and tax authorities.
- Review documentation and perform detailed calculations using raw data.
What you'll need#
- Working toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, or Economics.
- Anticipated graduation date within one year of the internship.
- Minimum Overall and Major GPA of 2.8.
- Completion of 6 to 12 Accounting hours, depending on the practice area.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and task prioritization skills.
- Ability to manage ambiguity and work both independently and in a team.
- A valid driver's license.
