About the role#
This internship offers an opportunity to work within our Asset Recovery practice. You will work alongside subject matter experts to identify tax savings opportunities for large-scale clients. This is a full-time, paid position for Summer 2027 based in Minneapolis. We operate on a hybrid schedule.
What you'll do#
- Provide client service to multi-state companies to identify tax savings.
- Assist with state and local tax controversies, including preparing clients for auditor discussions.
- Represent clients at hearings and appeal meetings.
- Prepare formal protests.
- Research and draft technical memoranda regarding tax issues.
- Respond to inquiries from clients and tax authorities.
- Review documentation and perform detailed calculations using raw data.
What you'll need#
- Working toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, or Economics.
- Graduation date within one year of the internship.
- Minimum overall and major GPA of 2.8.
- Completion of 6 to 12 accounting hours, depending on the practice area.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and work through ambiguity.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A valid driver's license.
