About the role#
Ryan Companies is hiring a Safety Engineer Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This full-time, on-site internship runs from May through August. You will work at our project sites in Lubbock or Dallas, Texas. You will spend 70% to 80% of your time in the field and the remainder in the office. This role supports the project management team and superintendents to maintain health and safety standards.
What you'll do#
- Assist the project management team in establishing and implementing the Ryan Safety and Site Safety Program.
- Conduct and document site-safety audits and inspections.
- Provide training to craft workers on safe work procedures.
- Monitor project safety and identify necessary changes to promote a safe working environment.
- Review subcontractor safety submittals and monitor their activities.
- Facilitate safety orientations and distribute updated safety information.
- Build rapport with contractors and field personnel to encourage safety participation.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health, industrial engineering, health administration, nursing, or public health.
- Graduation date within 6 months to 2 years.
- Good working knowledge of workers’ compensation and claims management.
- Familiarity with training programs and testing procedures.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the internship.
