About the role#
As a Civil Engineer Intern, you will work under the direct supervision of licensed professionals to gain hands-on experience in the design-build process. You will join our design team to support projects across the office, multi-family, healthcare, senior living, and industrial sectors. This role is intended for students who want to learn how to execute project documentation and contribute to an integrated design practice.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the design team to create thorough documents that meet project goals and schedules.
- Execute documentation for coordination and construction phases.
- Solve technical issues and assist with code reviews and regulatory approval processes.
- Conduct site due diligence and constraint analyses.
- Perform hydraulic and hydrologic engineering calculations and storm water modeling.
- Prepare and edit design presentations and proposals.
- Participate in design, consultant, and project team meetings.
- Handle general administrative tasks, including organizing project files, scanning, printing, and transmitting working drawings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Civil Engineering program.
- Graduation date within 18 months or less.
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a diverse team.
- A desire to work in an integrated design-build environment.
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Revit, Sketch-up, and InDesign is a plus.
- Familiarity with Bluebeam and MS Office Suite is helpful.
