About the role#
As a State and Local Tax Intern, you will work with clients of all sizes across various industries. You will join team engagements where you contribute to multiple parts of an assignment. This role involves building relationships with clients to understand their business challenges and tax needs.
What you'll do#
- Integrate state and local tax services for existing clients.
- Complete tax planning and research tasks.
- Develop an understanding of tax regulations and accounting pronouncements.
- Review current tax processes to find inefficiencies and suggest improvements to reduce tax exposure.
- Coordinate with client IT personnel to gather historical purchasing and sales data.
- Analyze data for reporting, audit procedures, and potential refunds or credits.
- Assist clients in evaluating and implementing sales and use tax software.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Accounting degree program (B.A. or B.S.).
- Completion of at least 90 credit hours.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong computer skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Access to reliable transportation for travel to client sites.
