About the role#
As a State and Local Tax Intern, you will work with a variety of companies across different industries. You will join team engagements and contribute to multiple parts of each assignment. This role involves building working relationships with clients and understanding their specific business challenges.
What you'll do#
- Integrate state and local tax services for existing clients.
- Complete tax planning and research tasks.
- Develop an understanding of state and local tax regulations and accounting pronouncements.
- Review client tax processes to identify inefficiencies and suggest improvements.
- Work with client information technology personnel to obtain data for reporting requirements and audit procedures.
- Analyze historical purchasing and sales data to review for potential refunds or credits.
- Assist clients in evaluating sales and use tax software systems.
What you'll need#
- Completion of 90 credit hours toward a B.A. or B.S. degree in Accounting.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively on a team and manage multiple tasks.
- Reliable transportation to travel to assigned client locations.
