About the role#
As a State and Local Tax Intern, you will work with a variety of clients across different industries. You will join team engagements where you contribute to multiple parts of a project. This role focuses on building professional relationships and understanding the specific business challenges our clients face.
What you'll do#
- Integrate state and local tax services for existing clients.
- Complete tax planning and research tasks.
- Develop an understanding of state and local tax regulations and accounting pronouncements.
- Review client tax processes to identify inefficiencies and suggest improvements.
- Work with client IT personnel to obtain data for reporting and audit procedures.
- Analyze data to identify potential refunds or credits.
- Assist clients with evaluating sales and use tax software and support the implementation process.
What you'll need#
- Completed 90 credit hours toward a B.A. or B.S. degree in Accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong general computer skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and handle multiple tasks.
- Access to reliable transportation for travel to client locations.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred.
