About the role#
As a State and Local Tax Intern, you will work with clients across various industries. You will join team engagements and contribute to multiple parts of each assignment. This role provides an opportunity to build professional relationships while gaining hands-on experience in tax planning and research.
What you'll do#
- Integrate state and local tax services with existing client accounts.
- Complete tax planning and research tasks.
- Develop an understanding of state and local tax regulations and accounting pronouncements.
- Review current client tax processes to find inefficiencies and suggest improvements.
- Coordinate with client information technology personnel to gather data for analysis.
- Assist clients in evaluating sales and use tax software systems to meet their compliance needs.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least 90 credit hours toward a B.A. or B.S. degree in Accounting from an accredited university.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively on a team and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to travel to assigned client locations, including access to reliable transportation.
