About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027. You will work alongside experienced professionals to gain hands-on experience in the electrical construction industry. This position provides an opportunity to apply your classroom knowledge to active projects while developing technical and professional skills.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers with electrical system design activities, including power, lighting, and auxiliary systems.
- Support the preparation and review of drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Perform basic electrical calculations, engineering analyses, and help with project-related deliverables.
- Participate in project meetings and collaborate with engineering and construction teams.
- Support field visits and site observations to learn about project execution and existing electrical systems.
- Learn and use industry software, tools, and engineering best practices.
- Provide administrative and technical support to the engineering team.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date of December 2027 or later, with rising junior or senior status preferred.
- Basic understanding of engineering principles and concepts.
- Familiarity or willingness to learn Autodesk (AutoCAD/Revit), Microsoft Office, and engineering analysis software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow direction, ask questions, and take initiative.
- A positive attitude and the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Previous construction or engineering internship experience is a plus.

- This is an on-site position based in California, with locations in Concord, San Francisco, Sacramento, and other regional offices.
- This role is full-time for the duration of the summer term.
