About the role#
The 2027 Summer Internship in Engineering is a 12-week paid program designed for students to gain hands-on experience in the electrical construction industry. Interns work alongside experienced professionals on active projects, contributing to real-world engineering tasks while building a foundation for their future careers.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers with electrical system design activities, including power, lighting, and auxiliary systems.
- Support the preparation and review of drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Help with basic electrical calculations, engineering analyses, and project-related deliverables.
- Participate in project meetings and collaborate with engineering and construction teams.
- Support field visits and site observations to gain exposure to project execution and existing electrical systems.
- Learn and use industry software, tools, and engineering best practices while providing administrative and technical support to the engineering team.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with a preference for rising juniors or seniors.
- A basic understanding of engineering principles and concepts.
- Familiarity or a willingness to learn tools such as Autodesk (AutoCAD/Revit), Microsoft Office, and engineering analysis software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow direction, ask questions, and take initiative.
- A positive attitude and an eagerness to learn in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Previous construction or engineering internship experience is a plus.
