About the role#
As a Grain Originator Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in the agricultural supply chain. You will focus on grain procurement, market analysis, and relationship management. You will work closely with our experienced grain originators to source grain, manage logistics, and contribute to our sourcing operations.
What you'll do#
- Maintain direct contact with customers and prospects to build relationships.
- Create and manage a customer contact list.
- Provide weekly updates to the grain team regarding market developments and customer interactions.
- Join weekly team calls to discuss strategy and market conditions.
- Assist in generating purchase contracts.
- Update daily grain bids and delivery hours on company platforms.
- Follow accounting procedures to keep accurate grain positions.
- Contribute to customer engagement through newsletters and social media.
- Evaluate marketing alternatives and help execute marketing plans.
- Assess cash grain and basis positions for potential marketing returns.
What you'll need#
- Ability to maintain direct contact with customers and prospects.
- Understanding of grain procurement and market analysis.
- Basic knowledge of agricultural supply chain logistics.
- Proficiency in communication and relationship building.
- Ability to follow accounting procedures.
- Capacity to assist in generating purchase contracts.
- Ability to contribute to marketing efforts and customer engagement.
- Pursuing a degree in Agriculture, Business Administration, Economics, Operations Management, Marketing, or Supply Chain Management.
