About the role#
River Valley Cooperative hires interns for the Summer 2027 season. You will work directly with an agronomy sales advisor and a dedicated mentor. This role provides a full-time, on-site experience across multiple locations. You will gain exposure to grain, feed, agronomy, and energy operations.
What you'll do#
- Scout fields to monitor for weeds, insect pressure, and diseases.
- Collect and submit tissue samples.
- Participate in training sessions with agronomy professionals, including a formal program with Winfield.
- Shadow account managers and precision ag specialists during daily farm visits.
- Visit vendors and suppliers on coordinated field trips.
- Tour company facilities to learn about different business areas.
- Shadow sales staff in feed, grain, and energy departments.
- Attend a board meeting to observe the perspective of member-owners.
- Represent the company at local summer fairs.
- Complete a summer-long project to present at the end of your internship.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an agriculture-related major.
- A safety-minded approach to all tasks.
- Ability to work as a collaborative team player.

- Compensation: $18.00 per hour.
- Term: Summer 2027.
