About the role#
Rendezvous Robotics builds modular spacecraft components that use electromagnetic self-assembly to create larger structures in space. We are based in Golden, Colorado, and are working toward our first operational systems. This is a full-time, on-site internship for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Write and test flight software for our onboard compute platform.
- Build tools for ground station operations, such as telemetry visualization and command sequencing.
- Develop communication protocols for units that maintain connectivity while the assembly changes shape.
- Create simulation environments to test new logic before deployment to hardware.
- Debug issues across the software and hardware boundary with the electrical team.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in C, C++, and Python.
- Knowledge of networking and distributed systems.
- Experience with embedded Linux or bare-metal firmware.
- Familiarity with embedded toolchains, frameworks, and communication buses.
- Understanding of real-time operating systems or scheduling constraints.
- Hands-on experience with robotics, drones, or satellite projects.

- Term: Summer 2027 (12-15 weeks).
