About the role#
As a GNC Engineering Intern at Reflect Orbital, you will take on responsibilities similar to our full-time team members. Your work contributes directly to our flying constellation. We look for individuals who are comfortable facing challenges without known solutions and are willing to work as hands-on contributors.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, analyze, manufacture, and test novel spacecraft components.
- Build complete tools and testing setups, with a focus on shipping your finished work.
- Prototype and iterate rapidly.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in aerospace, computer, or electrical engineering.
- Ability to work full-time on-site in Hawthorne, California.
- Experience building and shipping complex, high-quality solutions.
- Ability to work independently while knowing when to seek assistance.
- Understanding of orbital mechanics, spacecraft attitude dynamics, control systems, and state estimation.
- Proficiency in C, C++, and Python, along with mathematical modeling and simulation software.
- Familiarity with ADCS components like star trackers, IMUs, reaction wheels, and RCS.
- Experience applying technical skills outside of the classroom through projects, research, or prior work.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship located on-site in Hawthorne, California.
- The role requires a minimum commitment of 12 weeks.
