About the role#
As a Mission Operations Intern, you will hold the same level of responsibility as our full-time team members. You will contribute directly to the success of our flying constellation. We look for individuals who are comfortable facing challenges without known solutions and are willing to work as hands-on contributors. This role requires a commitment of at least 12 weeks of in-person work at our Hawthorne office.
What you'll do#
- Own the design, development, analysis, manufacturing, and testing of novel spacecraft components.
- Build complete tools and testing setups with an emphasis on finishing and shipping your work.
- Prototype and iterate rapidly.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master’s degree program in aerospace, software, or electrical engineering.
- Ability to work full-time on-site.
- Experience building and shipping complex, high-quality solutions alongside a scrappy approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently while knowing when to seek guidance.
- Understanding of spacecraft systems, subsystem interactions, and orbital mechanics fundamentals.
- Programming and scripting skills, preferably in Python.
- Experience using data analysis to troubleshoot or characterize complex systems.
- Familiarity with mission control software, RF systems, or ground station operations.
- Sound judgment and composure in real-time, high-pressure environments.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Application of technical skills outside of the classroom through personal projects, research, or prior work.

- Location: Hawthorne, California.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $27 to $31 per hour.
- Paid internship with daily lunches provided.
