About the role#
We are looking for an IT Support Specialist Intern to join our internal IT team. You will be the first point of contact for technology needs across the company, including account access, laptops, workstations, printers, and conference rooms. This is a hands-on role covering a wide range of IT support tasks.
What you'll do#
- Serve as support for employee IT requests by resolving tickets or escalating them as needed.
- Diagnose connectivity issues on Windows, macOS, and Linux machines.
- Prepare and configure laptops and workstations.
- Manage user onboarding and offboarding for services like AWS, Google, and Windows.
- Handle account access requests, such as password and 2FA resets, and manage license assignments for Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, Jira, and Adobe.
- Write user-facing guides and contribute to internal IT documentation and our knowledge base.
- Maintain the server room, IT rack, and inventory levels.
- Place orders for hardware and supplies.
- Coordinate warranty repairs and onsite vendor technician visits.
- Track and record IT assets.
- Assist with wireless access points, switch ports, VLAN and DNS changes, and VPN or mesh network enrollment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university program for Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of Windows and comfort with macOS and Linux.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and general networking concepts.
- Experience diagnosing PC hardware issues.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work on-site and lift or move equipment up to 40 lbs.
- Prior experience in help desk, IT support, or computer repair is preferred.
- Exposure to identity and access management concepts like SSO, MFA, least privilege, and password managers.
- Hands-on experience with PC building and networking gear, such as UniFi.
- Basic scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, including IAM, Identity Center, EC2, VPC, S3, CloudWatch, and Cost Explorer.
- Awareness of IT compliance frameworks such as CMMC, NIST 800-171, and ISO 27001.

- This role is based on-site in Hawthorne, California.
- This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling term.
