About the role#
Reflect Orbital is looking for a Ground Software Systems Intern to join our engineering team. You will have as much responsibility as our full-time staff and will contribute directly to the success of our satellite constellation. This role requires a commitment of at least 12 weeks of in-person work at our Hawthorne office.
What you'll do#
- Own the design, development, analysis, manufacturing, and testing of novel spacecraft components.
- Build complete tools and testing setups, focusing on shipping your work.
- Prototype and iterate on systems rapidly.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in aerospace, software, electrical, or a related engineering field.
- Ability to work full-time on-site in Hawthorne, California.
- Experience building and shipping complex, high-quality solutions.
- Ability to work independently while knowing when to ask for help.
- A scrappy approach to solving problems.
- Experience with languages like Python or C++, building services or APIs, and working with databases is helpful.
- Familiarity with Linux, cloud platforms like AWS, container orchestration, networking, or RF fundamentals is a plus.
- Experience from extracurricular projects, personal work, or research is valued.
Location & details#
- Location: Hawthorne, California.
- Compensation: $27 to $31 per hour.
- Schedule: Full-time internship.
