About the role#
This is a 4-month internship position for the Winter 2027 term, running from January to April. You will work within Group Risk Management to support stress testing processes and explore how generative AI can solve real risk problems. This role is full-time and based in Toronto.
What you'll do#
- Develop Python-based tools and automation to support stress testing and benchmarking.
- Apply generative AI and LLM tools to tasks like scenario narrative drafting, document analysis, and code generation.
- Analyze stress testing outputs to explain credit loss drivers and capital impacts.
- Build interactive dashboards and visualizations to make data easier to consume.
- Contribute to prototyping AI-enabled risk monitoring platforms.
- Participate in design sessions with quantitative analysts and document requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program in a quantitative discipline such as Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or Economics.
- Working knowledge of Python and SQL, with the ability to manipulate and validate large datasets.
- Hands-on experience with generative AI or LLM tools.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Intellectual curiosity and a self-starter mindset.
- Exposure to credit risk, macroeconomics, or econometrics coursework is an asset.
- Familiarity with stress testing, regulatory capital concepts, data visualization tools, version control, or large-scale enterprise data environments is helpful.
